The culture and production of buds, flowers, bracts, seed heads and foliage for use in floristry, retail and allied products for local, interstate or export markets.  Production areas may be ‘bush’ based, in ground, hydroponic or container based in open fields, protective structures and environmentally managed growth structures.  Material may cover fresh, dried or treated native and exotic plant species. Production areas may be remote or near towns and cities but located near reliable transport.


Plant treatment, harvest, storage, transportation, product handling and packaging are important unit components.
