Certificate III in Parks and Gardens

This focuses on public land or private space, asset or infrastructure installation, maintenance and renovation and is particular to local authorities, landscape maintenance companies, green space establishment, recreational developments and large private or public gardens. There is a requirement to understand the relationship between the needs of community, supporting infrastructure and the green environment.


Plant soil and water interrelationships are important to all studies in parks and gardens.

The ability of observe and report change across a range of assets forms an important base from which to operate.


This qualification provides a vocational outcome in parks and gardens.

The parks and gardens industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level.

  • For Fee For Service Students, we base duration on Volume of Learning as recommended by ASQA such as Certificate II = up to 12 months or 1200 hours, and Certificate III, IV or Diploma = up to 24 months or 2400 hours.
